Flu season winding down in the tri-states

Posted:
QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Good news to report tonight on the health front.

Flu cases across the nation and here in the tri-states are continuing to decline.

And according to the CDC 38 states including Iowa, Illinois and Missouri are now experiencing minimal flu activity.

Adams County health officials say while the flu season is coming to an end-- it's still important to do your part to stay healthy.

"Wash your hand thoroughly, cover your mouth when you cough, and if you've not had a vaccination, you can still get the influenza vaccine here," said Karen Spring, a registered Nurse with the Adams County Health Department.

The Adams County Health department still offers flu shots on Mondays from 1-6 p.m., and Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m.
