QND senior forward Jordan Frericks wound up third in voting for Illinois Ms. Basketball, the Chicago Tribune announced on Monday evening.
QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- Jordan Frericks may have moved on to the sport of soccer but her spectacular senior season in basketball continues to garner recognition.
The QND All-State forward was named Quincy Herald-Whig Player of the Year for the second straight year on Sunday.
And, she nearly pulled off the state's top individual honor on Monday.
The Chicago Tribune announced Frericks finished third in the voting for Illinois Ms. Basketball given to the state's best high school girls basketball player, as voted on by statewide coaches and media members.
The Mizzou signee averaged 16 points, eight rebounds, and five steals this season while helping the Lady Raiders to their third consecutive state championship.
The winner of Illinois Ms. Basketball is Mount Carmel junior and Indiana commit Tyra Buss while Illinois Mr. Basketball went to Simeon senior and Duke signee Jabari Parker.
