(WGEM) -- Last week Palmyra's Chris Parsons was tabbed The People's Choice for WGEM High School Girls Basketball Coach of the Year.

And, Monday it was time to award the Player of the Year.

Once again the fans have spoken with more than 4,100 votes cast.

The winner is Unity senior guard and Culver-Stockton signee Breanne Begeman after she received more than 2,700 votes.

Begeman was certainly worthy of the award thanks to her stellar season. She averaged 14.5 points, nine rebounds, and six assists for the regional championship and 26-win Lady Mustangs squad.

WGEM Sports will feature Begeman Friday night on Sports Extra.

Here's how the voting shook out:

Begeman earned a whopping 66% of the vote, followed by Megan Hooper from Palmyra who notched nearly 800 votes, or 19%.

The Quincy Notre Dame tandem of Jordan Frericks and Kassidy Gengenbacher rounded out the top four vote getters.
