Hannibal woman accused of hiding drugs in son's pocket pleads guilty

A Hannibal woman faces up to a decade in prison for hiding drugs in her four-year-old son's coat pocket while stealing from a Quincy store.

Jennifer Shurtleff, 28, pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child, manufacture or delivery of heroin, and retail theft.

She was arrested Dec. 13 after trying to steal items from the Quincy Kmart.

Authorities say she also stuffed bags containing heroin, cocaine and cannabis in her son's coat to hide from police.

Shurtleff is scheduled to be sentenced May 30.
