Hit and run accident damages Maine Center

A downtown Quincy establishment was damaged due to a hit and run accident early Saturday morning.

Officers say a pickup truck hit the east side of the Maine Center just after 2 a.m. Saturday, causing broken windows and damage to the brick facade. Witnesses told officers that the people in the truck ran off.

Officers say they believe the truck was driving south on 6th Street from Hampshire when the driver lost control and ran off the roadway, hitting a light standard before colliding with the building.

Police later located Brady M. Fielding, 24, at 5th and Hampshire, and determined he was in the truck at the time of the accident. He was arrested for Failure to Report an Accident to Police and was released on bond.

The driver has yet to be identified and the investigation is ongoing.
