Fix or Flatten Bids Due Thursday Morning

There's a property right across the street from this apartment complex that's on the city's Fix or Flatten list, but it could be yours to redevelop.

Bids are due Thursday morning for 24 rundown properties that are part of the Fix or Flatten program.  Because the bids are sealed, Quincy Planning Director Chuck Bevelheimer said it's unknown how many people have submitted a bid so far.  He said he's seen a lot of people calling on properties and thinks more bids could come in before the deadline.

"We have received quite a few phone calls today and a lot of people have been in the office picking up the list of properties that are for sale, and I think we'll have a pretty good bid list to go through," he said.

This properties will likely sell for about $500 to $1,500.  The deadline is 11 tomorrow morning at the city's planning office in the city hall annex.
