Tri-state runners begin prepping for summer St. Jude Run

It may be over four months away, but dozens of tri-states residents are ready to hit the ground running-- in preparation for this summer's St. Jude Run.

Runners representing the Quincy and Hannibal region met up at Tower Pizza tonight in Quincy to Discuss this years race.

Runners will begin their journey from Hannibal and Quincy on Friday August 2nd and run relay style to Peoria on Saturday August 3rd.

Organizers with the run say they already have over 100 runners signed up-- but they still need more.

"The more people we get involved that carries over to the more money that's raised for St. Jude, so each person that's on the trip or the volunteer or runner, has to raise so much money, so the more there is, just the more money that's raised," said Gary Hackmann.

If you'd like to sign up to participate in this years run it costs $750.

And 100% of the money raised goes toward research and treatment for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
