Quincy Park District Opens Batting Cages with Improvements

A week after reopening city parks for the season, The Quincy Park District opened its Batting Cage Area Friday.  There are some improvements to the facility.  During the off season, crews put in new turf on the Mini Golf Course as well as new netting around the batting cages. Despite the cold, damp weather several people still came out to enjoy opening day.

"I'm not too surprised with the weather. It is a little shocking but with how many people we had calling about it and waiting and waiting and getting really excited for this, I'm not that shocked," said Quincy Park District Employee Denver Bradley.

Bradley said the Park District didn't want to move the opening date to a warmer day because of the amount of interest there had been to get the cages open again.
