49 counties around the state of Illinois will be receiving nearly one hundred thousand dollars in grants all together to build awareness of electronics recycling programs.
Governor Pat Quinn made that announcement Saturday in celebration of earth month in April.
Each county will receive two thousand dollars to help pay for flyers, radio and newspaper ads and other educational materials to let local residents know how to safely dispose of items like TVs, VCRs, computers, printers, and video game consoles.
Here in the Tri-States, Adams and Pike counties were two of the counties to receive the grant.
