Quincy Public School District welcomes Cobb as new superintendent

The Quincy Public School District welcomed its new leader Monday.

Superintendent Steven Cobb started work nearly two and a half months ahead of schedule to get to know the students and the district better before making plans for next school year.

Cobb says While there is much to be done within the district-- sorting out internal staffing issues first is a must.

"We've got some central office organization that we will be taking care of, and addressing some very key issues and people to come in and work with our team. So that's my first primary goal is working with the board," said Cobb.

Former interim superintendent Joel Murphy will return full-time to his primary job as the district's business manager.
