QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

The Quincy Police Department is looking for information on two recent Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).

Police say no one was hurt in either incident, but the devices were capable of causing serious harm to anyone near them.

One of the IEDs was detonated prior to the incident at the Boston Marathon on Monday.

QPD says the first explosive device was detonated in the 1700 block of Jackson sometime between 2 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday. Investigators say the IED had a number of BB's wrapped in newspaper and duct tape around it. A nearby residence was damaged.

Police report the second explosive was a "soda bottle bomb" that did not appear to have any method for discharging shrapnel. Officers say that device was detonated just before 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 2000 block of Hampshire.

Police warn people to stay away from any suspicious objects and immediately call 9-1-1.

If anyone has any information about the explosive devices, call the Quincy Police Department (217-228-4470) or Quincy Regional CrimeStoppers (217-228-4474).
