Blessing Health System officials are currently looking into a future partnership with another medical provider, according to a hospital spokesman.
Senior Communications Specialist Steve Felde said the board of trustees started to research possible options last year.
"The board has been examining options since last June," Felde said. "They have talked to several organizations, but nothing has been decided yet."
Felde said by seeking a partnership, Blessing is addressing changes brought on by the Affordable Health Care Act.
"A hospital is now just one player in the much larger picture of medical care," Felde said. "The future of healthcare is cooperation with other medical providers at all levels."
Felde said the trustees will continue to research possible affiliations, but it may not happen at all.
"The trustees could find that affiliation may not be the way to go," Felde added. "That's why they are researching all options."
