Scammers taking advantage of recent storm

Scam artists are now taking advantage of the recent storm and setting their sights on the elderly.

According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, people are contacting senior citizens and attempting to perform work on the "lightning rods" at their home.

If anyone contacts you to perform work at your home, you're asked to call authorities and have them checked out. Sheriff Jimmy Shinn says to not give them permission to do any work or give them any money until they are investigated that they are a legitimate business.
