Projected river crest predictions have prompted the scheduled close of one route across the Mississippi River.
Pike County Emergency Management Director David Greenwood says that the Champ Clark Bridge at Louisiana, Missouri will close beginning at Noon Saturday, due to projected river levels.
"The projected river levels at this location are projected to crest at 25.5 feet on Monday," Greenwood said. "This of course is based on the current crest models. In a scenario such as this, rain, or the lack of rain, can always change our schedules."
Greenwood said he expects the closure of US 54, which the bridge carries across from Pike County, Illinois, into Pike County, Missouri.
