Two people rescued near Alexandria gas station

ALEXANDRIA, Mo. (WGEM) -

Two people were rescued Thursday night after rising water submerged their vehicle near an Alexandria gas station.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said two people became stranded before two Ayerco employees helped them to the gas station in Alexandria.

However, the water kept rising quickly, submerging the car. The store's owner used a boat to get the people away from the store to safety just before 9:45 p.m.

Troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Clark County Sheriff's Deputies were on scene to make sure the stranded motorists were okay.

No injuries were reported.
