U.S. Congressman Schock surveys flood efforts in Quincy

Illinois Congressman Aaron Schock has been making the rounds visiting areas who have been impacted by flooding.

After touring Beardstown and Meredosia, he stopped at Gardner Denver in Quincy Sunday afternoon to praise the efforts of the workers and volunteers who have been sandbagging to protect the plant.

He says thanks to their work, they will be just fine.

"My kudos to them, and I'm really here to congratulate them for really taking the bull by the horns and really not relying on any government agency, but really the workforce of their own employees putting down these sandbags," he said.

Schock said that he was especially struck by the communities that had planned ahead, he says they're the ones that are doing well.
