Bacteria test kits for water wells available for free in Quincy

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

If you're unsure the water from your water well is safe to drink due to this flooding, you can pick up a free test kit.

The Adams County Health Department is offering free bacteria and nitrate test kits during normal office hours.

However, you are responsible for the overnight shipping to the Illinois Department of Public Health's lab.

The City of Quincy is also offering test kits for $20 at City Hall.

Water samples can be dropped off to the City of Quincy.

For questions on the water test kits from the ACHD, call 222-8440. For questions on the kits from the City of Quincy, call 228-4592.
