City of Macomb offering curbside pick up of flood debris

The City of Macomb is now picking up flood damaged debris from your home.

From now until May 2, waste management crews will pick up flood damaged furniture, carpet, drywall and other debris left on the curb. Pick up will be the same day as your garbage collection with no limit to the number of items or containers that can be picked up.

During this period, the City will not enforce its ordinance regarding how much time these damaged items sit on the curb. There will be no extra charge to Macomb residents for this special pick up.

Waste Management will accept the following: All furniture, regardless of size; carpeting, as long it is in 2 foot wide rolls or less and weighs 50 lbs or less; other items must be contained in plastic bags, cans or regular WM solid waste containers, all weighing 50 lbs or less.

Storm-damaged electronic equipment will not be picked up at the curb, but may be delivered to the Regional Collection Facility at 510 N Pearl Street in Macomb, with hours from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and Saturday, May 4 from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
