Becky Albert wins 2013 Joe Bonansinga Community Service Award

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

A volunteer who's given countless hours to serving the Quincy area was honored for her work Tuesday.

The Quincy Rotary Club and United Way honored Becky Albert with the 2013 Joe Bonansinga Community Service Award.

The award is given annually to an individual who promotes the quality of life in our community.

Albert volunteers at several organizations including the Quincy Hospitality House, Early Tin Dusters, Quincy Noon Kiwanis and in her church.

She says she's doing what she loves to do.

"All my family, friends and coworkers have been big supporters. And I love the fact that my grandchildren get to volunteer with me too," said Albert.

The first community service award was presented in 1998 to Joe "Mr. Quincy" Bonansinga, and its presented every year during National Volunteer Week.
