Students at John Wood Community College are making improvements to the Washington Theater as part of a learning experience.
The college is having a class designed to help electrical students get more experience by cleaning up and helping to rewire problems areas inside the theater for those working there this summer. Teacher Steve Edgar said his students were thrilled they could get real world experience.
"They're so excited because when they first found out about this project they've really been chomping at the bit because this is an opportunity for them to get out in the field as opposed to work in the school and in the lab," said Edgar.
Edgar said next semester, students will work on upgrading equipment inside the theater.
