QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- This year's NFL Draft has come and gone and this past weekend was plenty different for Quincy native Jack Cornell who didn't have to worry about whether or not he'd be chosen, or where he would sign.

In fact, Cornell was in Quincy the past few days working on wedding plans and not football.

The Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens lineman is getting prepared for his June nuptials and remains focused on his second season as a professional.

Cornell also isn't taking for granted what he experienced the last months

"It's definitely surreal, and I don't think that it'll ever really hit me that we won the Super Bowl," he told WGEM Sports.

"Just getting to that game and being on that stage is what every football player dreams of and to have the opportunity is very special. To have another opportunity this year to continue my lifelong dream of playing in the National Football League is awesome."

A member of the practice squad in 2012, Cornell is eyeing bigger and better things in 2013.

He's had a chance to make a good first impression on the Ravens coaching staff and his goal is solely based on making the active roster.

Cornell is confident he'll get that opportunity this fall

"This year obviously I've got another year of experience under my belt," Cornell expressed.

"I've earned a lot of respect from the coaches and players and I think that I'm standing on a lot firmer ground. I'm very confident in my ability and work ethic going into this camp that I can make this football team."

Cornell is back in Baltimore to prepare for mini-camps and organized team activities that are scheduled for the coming weeks.
