Fort Madison city council takes first step to improve city streets

The Fort Madison city council just approved the first step in a $6 million street infrastructure project.

The project would overhaul some of the major streets including 15th, 24th and 48th, as well as some parks in town.

The council approved the bonds for the project at last night's city council meeting.

Coming up on WGEM News at Six, hear from city manager Byron Smith about the project and how some residents feel about fixing the streets in town.
