It was a graduation of a different kind for some local high school students Wednesday.
Seventy-three students completed Peoples Prosperity Bank's Financial Scholars program at Quincy High School.
The course teaches students about personal finances, ranging from credit scores to insurance to savings and loans.
Organizers say these students will be the next business owners and family leaders, and they need this knowledge.
"They know that they need to understand these things going out into the world. And they were hungry for the knowledge. It was truly a blessing to be able to do that," said Kellie Kurre, Community Market President for Peoples Prosperity Bank.
All public high school students in Illinois must now pass a personal finance and economics course before graduating.
