Last year, 535 local senior volunteers dedicated more than 85-thousand hours of service. Today, they got the day off.
The Adams County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, also knows as RSVP, is a group of volunteers over the age of 55. And today they celebrated their hours of service with a carry-in luncheon.
The RSVP program, sponsored in part by John Wood Community College, helps serve 71 area non-profit agencies.
According to Independent Sector, the value of RSVP volunteer service hours to community organizations is over one million dollars.
