If your kids are always complaining about how bored they are in the summer, you might want to send them to a summer camp this year.
The Salvation Army is gearing up for a series of camps for kids ranging from age six through 17.
The week-long camps are located in Bourbon, Missouri and run from June through the first part of August.
Kids get the opportunity to participate in everything from nature to music courses depending on the camp.
Organizers say the camps gives kids a break from their normal routine in the summer.
"It's a retreat for kids to get away and get their minds on something else for that one week. Just meet other kids throughout the state of Illinois and Missouri," said Linnea Forney of the Salvation Army.
There will be a sign-up event at the Kroc Center Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. where you can find out more information and pick up an application.
Applications are due by May 20th at 5 P-M.
