MACOMB, Ill. (WGEM) -- Graduation season is here, and it's a big weekend in Macomb.
Western Illinois University got commencement ceremonies started tonight at Western Hall.
276 students received their masters or doctorate degrees this evening.
Those graduating tonight had mixed emotions.
"I'm sure it will be something that sort of hits me after the fact that there's just this whirlwind of activity right now and that when I wake up tomorrow I'll realize hey I graduated, I got my masters," says John Ceglarek, a WIU student that received his Masters in Recreation Parks and Tourism Administration.
"It means that all my hard work has paid off and all the sacrifices my family and I made was worth it," says Susan Reid, a WIU student that received her Masters in English.
WIU will hold commencement ceremonies for undergraduates on Saturday and Sunday.
