Economic development officials say more businesses could be making their way to America's Hometown. Northeast Economic Development Director George Walley said he's had about a dozen different businesses approach him in the last 60 days on possibly opening a business in Hannibal.
He said the biggest areas of interest are downtown, the Huck Finn Shopping Center, and off Highway 61.
"What's really interesting and what I think is really encouraging is the inquiries are across the board from retail office space warehouse space. We've had several people come to town and I've shown them business and properties," Walley said.
Walley said he can't release the names of the businesses but does say he's had a couple show interest in the old Kroger building in the Huck Finn Shopping Center.
