Cause of West Quincy mobile home fire 'undetermined'

WEST QUINCY, Mo. (WGEM) -

Authorities say the cause of a fire that destroyed a mobile home in West Quincy Wednesday afternoon could not be determined.

Palmyra fireman and administrator John Lewis says an investigator with the Missouri State Fire Marshal office was at the scene of the fire Thursday morning and could not pinpoint an exact cause. Lewis said there was too much damage to the structure to make a determination.

Crews from Palmyra. LaGrange and Quincy Township responded to the fire shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Extra assistance was requested by the Palmyra department because there wasn't any hydrants nearby.

Palmyra Fire Chief Gary Crane says 5,000 gallons of water were used to extinguish the fire.
