The Keokuk-Hamilton dam on the Mississippi River is turning 100-years-old next month and now community members need help raising money for a celebration.
Organizers say the event is estimated to cost $85,000, so they are asking local businesses and organizations to donate to the cause.
The event will feature music, power plant tours, trolley rides and mural painting all throughout the city. The event runs from June 28-30 and organizers say they're expecting 20,000 people to attend.
If you would like to make a donation you can mail a check to 329 Main Street Keokuk, Iowa 52632 and make it out to Mississippi River Power 100.
