Kroc Center working with Quincy schools for summer plans

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

The Kroc Center is working with Quincy schools to get kids active before the summer break.

Berrian Elementary and the Kroc Center celebrated Partnership Day on Thursday with an end of the year party. Swimming, a photo booth, taekwondo and cup stacking were just some of the activities the students took part in.

"I think it's a great opportunity. We're looking for ways to bridge with other schools. And to enter into formalized relationships with them. So that all the kids in our community , through the elementary schools, will have an opportunity to be in and out of the Kroc Center," Rich Forney, Officer for Youth Development, said.

The Kroc Center is also offering Day Camps this summer, which officers say is a great way to get the kids off the cough and get them exercising and reading.
