QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- The Quincy Notre Dame girls soccer team once again searches for sectional prowess Friday afternoon with another trip to Bloomington to square off against St. Thomas More.
The Lady Raiders enter the contest riding an 19 game unbeaten streak having not lost since the season opener against Helias.
"From the first game to now we've made some tremendous strides," head coach Mark Longo said.
"In that first game it was just simple mistakes that I guess you could call our rookies made. We had seven first time starters in that game. We've come a long way as a team."
Senior Abby Grawe knows anything can happen this time of year.
"You just have to take each game like it's your last game," Grawe noted.
"You can't take games for granted. You just have to go out there and give it your all."
Senior Jordan Frericks added: "We're just going to come out and play like we usually do, play hard and aggressive. We can do it when we have confidence."
Friday's Class 1A sectional championship game kicks off at 4:30 p.m.
