Ft. Madison man arrested for hiring someone to shoot police officers

A Fort Madison man is arrested on conspiracy to commit terrorism charges for reportedly hiring someone to shoot two police officers.

The Department of Public Safety says 18-year-old Dillen Eaves is also charged with conspiracy to commit intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

Eaves allegedly supplied the gun to be used in drive by shootings at the homes of the two officers.

He reportedly paid the person $1,200 in January.

The shootings were never carried out.

Eaves is in the Lee County Jail awaiting an initial appearance in court.
