Red Cross opens shelter for Hannibal storm victims

The American Red Cross has opened a temporary shelter in Hannibal for those in need of overnight accommodations from Monday night's storms.

The shelter is located Admiral Coontz Armory at 301 Warren Barrett Drive, offering a bed, warm meals, electricity and oxygen machines for those that may need them.

Tom Duggar with the Red Cross says, for many, it's as close to home as they can get right now.

"We're making the shelter available for those people that need a safe, warm place to stay," Duggar said.

Residents wishing to stay at the shelter should arrive at the Armory and register.
