Heroes Campaign raises $60,110 for local Red Cross

The Red Cross will continue to be able to respond to local disasters thanks to a group of heroes.

The Heroes Campaign raised a record $60,110 this year, surpassing it's goal by $10,000. Organizers say the Red Cross couldn't survive without the support from the community.

"This allows us to do everything that we do. Help people with fires at their houses, floods, tornado in Hannibal. All those things that happen plus the other classes that we do CPR classes, babysitting classes, Honor Flights," said campaign chair Michael Bickhaus.

The Heroes Campaign is the largest single fundraiser of the year for the Red Cross serving Adams, Brown, Hancock, McDonough and Pike Counties.
