Quincy's Salvation Army held a grand opening Thursday for its new Emergency Shelter at 501 Broadway.
Nearly 200 people attended Thursday's formal dedication ceremony for the John Gardner Stevenson Family Emergency Shelter.
The shelter offers 16 beds and a state of the art kitchen.
The new building also houses the Family Services office, food pantry and a community room.
"This is the heart of what people know of the salvation army. This is when they think of the salvation army, it's helping those in need, helping those without food, helping those without shelter," said Major Andrew Miller.
The shelter opened it's doors in March and replaces the former Inman Gallery.
