Hannibal traffic lights could be fixed in a few weeks, officials say

HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM) -

The storm that ripped through Hannibal nearly three weeks ago, left many residents without power, which is now restored.

But the same can't be said for some downtown traffic lights.

Hannibal city officials say traffic lights at three intersections off Broadway in Hannibal are still not working.

In the mean time, the city has put up temporary stop signs to help direct traffic.

But drivers say they just want to see the traffic lights fixed as soon as possible.

"It's an irritant really. You know, if you catch them red, you catch them red, but this time it's stop sign all the way, so it's just an irritant if you're in a hurry," said Michael Ansell.

Hannibal city officials hope to have the traffic lights fixed in the next two weeks.
