A massive sinkhole that shut down one Quincy intersection nearly two weeks ago is nearly fixed.
Quincy Central Services Director Marty Stegeman says city crews have already filled the nearly 15-foot sink hole with gravel.
Crews poured concrete Monday to create a more permanent fix. Stegeman says because of all the recent rain, the city has dealt with about 15 sinkholes just the past month.
"They are hard to guess where they are going to happen or how frequent they are going to happen, if we continue to get heavy rains, which hopefully we are done with for a while, we should get some relief from them," Stegeman said.
Stegeman hopes to have the 6th and Kentucky intersection back open by Wednesday.
