Northeast Missouri healthcare leaders take concerns to lawmakers

HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM) -

Healthcare leaders in Northeast Missouri are taking their concerns to state lawmakers.

The CHART partnership teamed up with Families and Communities Together Wednesday for a bus tour highlighting what's happening in the health community.

Later, legislative roundtable brought in civic and health leaders to find out what can be done to meet the needs or patients.

"There are major health care issues in confronting the citizens of Northeast Missouri and it's critically important that our voice be understood in Jefferson City and that we have handle on the pace of change anticipated in our state government," said Julie Levernz, Vice President of Planning for Hannibal Regional Healthcare System.

You're invited to share your ideas on improving local healthcare Thursday night in a town hall meeting.

That starts at 5:30 at Hannibal's Quality Inn.
