Honor Flight Veterans return home after whirlwind trip

Another group of local veterans are back home Friday morning, after a nearly 24-hour trip to Washington DC as part of the 19th Great River Honor Flight.

Nearly 200 motorcycles escorted the veterans home to a huge crowd of family, friends and patriots at John Wood Community College late Thursday night.

Local veterans from both Korea and World War Two were showered with gratitude all day as they took part in a free trip to our nation's capital, to see the memorials that were built in their honor.

These trips are free to all veterans of World War Two and Korea. If you or someone you know would like to participate, click on www.wgem.com/honorflight for an application.
