The Locally-Grown Herb Fest will be held June 21st & 22nd at Four Winds Farm, 3729 N. 36th Street in Quincy, IL. This event is sponsored by WISAS (Western Illinois Sustainable Ag Society).
The festival will showcase locally-grown and locally-made produce, products; and of course…herbs! This is a family event. It will feature guided tours of the Four Winds Farm herb gardens, music, food, vendor booths, demonstrations, gardening tips; plus time to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Admission is free to the public. And, donations will be accepted if desired. Lunch and snacks will be sold, featuring a local chef and locally-grown food, primarily from the WISAS members.
Deborah Lee says many are surprised to find out how many uses there are for herbs! "I think particularly people appreciate some of the understanding of the chemistry in the plants and the plant medicine that goes along very well with Western medicine. So I think a lot of people appreciate the ability to better take care of themselves with a wide use of herbs. You have to know what you're doing," she said.
