Brown Co. added to public federal disaster declaration for Illinois

(WGEM) -- Another local county has been approved for federal aid to help recover from historic flooding in April.

Brown County joins 39 other Illinois counties in the federal disaster declaration.

It means governments can get up reimbursed for up to 75 percent of their flood related expenses to fix roads and other infrastructure.

The April floods left behind an estimated $350,000 worth of damage to public property in Brown County.

Adams, Hancock, McDonough, Pike and Schuyler Counties were already included in the designation.
