Phone scam claiming to offer federal grants hits Adams County

Posted:
ADAMS COUNTY, Ill. (WGEM) -

The Adams County Sheriff's Office is warning of another phone scam.

Authorities say callers will offer federal grants if you send $250-$500 to them by Western Union.

Deputies have taken several complaints in the past few days and warn there is no such grant.

You're advised to never give out any information over the phone and report any suspicious calls to the local authorities.
