Technology Upgrades progressing at QPS

Technology upgrades at Quincy Public Schools are underway.

Workers are currently installing Internet access points around the high school. This is all part of the "Dream Big" campaign", which included financial donations from Knapheide.

Technology Coordinator  Dmitry Andrievsky says this will eventually allow students and teachers to work online during class, and also to take online tests
He says they're already well on their way to getting everything complete. "We've upgraded the switches that provide the data connectivity for the access points, and provide the power to them as well, so we've been working on that throughout the early months of the spring and into the summer," he said.

Work will be finished up in the senior high, Early Childhood Development Center, and the Board of Education offices by the time classes return in the fall - and then they will start work on other buildings.
