John Wood Community College partners up to create entrepreneurship program

Two local colleges are teaming up to help give entrepreneurs the knowledge they need to succeed.

John Wood Community College announced partnered with the Western Illinois University Small Business Development Center this morning.

The Professional Development Certificate in Entrepreneurship has been designed to instruct those creating or building a business on how to discover their target market, how to get funding, and more.

"Our hope with this program is that when they complete the certificate they have all the answers to this. And they are ready to walk out the door with their plan and approach a funding source if they choose to do so," said Pam Maddox, John Wood's Outreach Specialist.

Also, if a student decides they don't have time to complete the full course, they can still take classes within the program itself.
