Dozens of artists fill Washington Park for MidSummer Arts Faire
QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- Painting and photography, sculpture and pottery and artwork for most every taste is on display this weekend as part of the Midsummer Arts Faire.
Fifty-six different artists have descended on Quincy's Washington Park, setting up their wares for you to peruse, and possibly purchase. The Arts Faire is what's called a "juried exhibition and sale," meaning artists had to apply and face a competitive judging process before being granted a spot. The faire's organizers say this event brings in artists from across the country.
"The furthest distance that we have an artist from this year is Texas. We also have some from Colorado, Arkansas, Indiana, and then the rest are all from Illinois, Missouri, around that area--this region."
The Midsummer Arts Faire runs Saturday from 10 to 5, and Sunday from 11 to 4. The organizers say there will also be plenty of hands-on activities for kids.
