Macomb Fly-in/Drive-in Brings Out 2,000 People

Why eat breakfast at home, when today you could eat breakfast with some pilots.

Macomb Airport held a Fly-in/Drive-in breakfast as a part of Macomb Heritage Days today. Roughly 2,000 people came out to support the event. Free rides in the planes were given out including rides in a B-25 bomber. Board Chairman Bill Butcher said this helps people know Macomb does have an airport.

"We often say it's the cities best kept secret and we like to have an opportunity to bring people out here and enjoy the airport, see the planes that fly in for the breakfast, because they come from all over"

This year's event was in honor and memory of Donald "doc" Horine, who was on the board for 37 years and chairman for 24. Horine passed away this past February.
