Due to the rising river, Fort Madison has postponed its Fourth of July fireworks display until Labor Day.
The Fort Madison Partners say flooding is threatening the Riverview park where the fireworks are normally launched.
And there are no other locations in the city to safely shoot off the fireworks.
The display will be put off until Sept. 2, with the fireworks back in the park, weather permitting.
