The campus of Culver-Stockon may be expanding soon and officials hope it will draw more students attend.
The college is hoping to double the size of its current recreation center by adding on to the current facility.
The new facility will have more exercise equipment, courts and a walking track. The college will receive $700,000 from the Mabee Foundation if they are able to raise $2.8 million through donations.
"It was according to them, a top priority that they would like to have on campus, so we want to partner with our students to ensure we can enrich their experience, have a place to work out year-round, and also attract more students to the campus," Eric Barkley with Culver-Stockton College said.
The college hopes to start construction on the facility next year.
