Runners from near and far are gearing up for Saturday's Hannibal Cannibal race.
More than 1,700 participants ran in extreme heat in 2012. With cooler temperatures this year, Race Director Angie Wilcoxen hopes to have a record breaking year with 2,000 entries.
"Our biggest draw is from the Tri-State area, but we do get usually like 30-35 states represented," Wilcoxen said. "I do have some people coming from Germany, from a military base in Germany, and I also have one from Australia signed up this year."
Registration for the Hannibal Cannibal starts at 5:30 a.m. and the cannon goes off for the race at 7 a.m. You can register the morning of the race. Entry fee is $30 per person.
A fun run for children 10 and under will take place at 9 a.m. Entry fee for that event is $15.
