Monroe Elementary has a new principal after former principal Julie Stratman was promoted within the district.
QPS announced Monday that it is handing the position to Brian Trowbridge with a salary of $77,300.00 a year.
"I think he's going to be a wonderful addition to our administrative team. He's going to fit in wonderfully at Monroe with the families there and staff. It's going to be a really nice situation for him," said QPS Elementary Academic Director Julie Stratman.
Trowbridge has served as principal of the Hannibal Educational Center and the district's athletic director since 2009.
He previously served as an assistant principal at Lanphier High School in Springfield, Illinois.
Trowbridge got his Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University and a Masters degree from the University of Illinois in Springfield.
With any new position comes new challenges.
"I think the big one is the Common Core and understanding all of that and getting all of the things in place that we need to do district-wide but he's going to have lots of help with that," Stratman said.
